In our previous posts, in this important series of posts, we’ve painstakingly laid out incontrovertible proofs that America is the book of Revelation’s “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve previously proffered in our previous posts.

1. Whereas the ancient Tower of Babel was fallen man’s first attempt at creating his own heaven on earth, through a one world government, and his own way into heaven, through manmade religion, modern-day America is spearheading fallen man’s final attempt at creating his own heaven on earth, through a one world government, and his own way into heaven, through manmade religion.
2. Just as ancient Babylon was this fallen world’s first great Gentile world power, all succeeding world powers have served ever since as the “Babylon” of their day. For instance, in 1 Peter 5:13, the Apostle Peter calls Rome “Babylon,” because Rome was the great world power of Peter’s day. Therefore, Revelation’s “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT” should be understood as this fallen world’s end-time superpower, which, if we’re living at the end of time, must be America, our world’s only remaining superpower.
3. While Revelation characterizes the world’s end-time BABYLON (superpower) as “GREAT”—the greatest power in the history of fallen humanity—it also characterizes it as a “MYSTERY,” something hidden from preceding generations. Truly, this is uniquely true of America, since America’s rise to unprecedented world power could not possibly have been foreseen by past generations. After all, the American continent was not even discovered until the fifteenth century, America was not founded as a nation until the eighteenth century, and America did not rise to world supremacy until the twentieth century. 
4. Revelation’s “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT” will not just be the greatest power in the history of the world, as well as the world’s end-time superpower, but also, “THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS.” She will be guilty of the most egregious spiritual harlotry in all of human history. Now, for what superpower in the world today is the scarlet and purple attire of Revelation’s “MOTHER OF HARLOTS” perfectly fitted? Is it not America, which has gone from being the greatest Christian nation in the history of the world, to becoming an antichrist nation hellbent on stamping out Christianity in its midst?
5. Finally, not only is Revelation’s “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT” portrayed in Revelation as “THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS,” but also as the “MOTHER OF ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Again, it is easy to see how this diabolical description is distinctly applicable to America, since we’ve ceased to be the greatest exporter of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world, and become the world’s greatest exporter of abominations. No longer is America a city on a hill, sending the light of the Gospel to the rest of the world, but we’ve become a sinful slag heap, filling the world with the irrepressible stench of our moral depravity.  

With this post, we will begin to look at the book of Revelation’s predicted destruction of “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,” which again will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that America alone is “the great city” to be “thrown down” and “found no more” (Revelation 18:21). Let’s begin with the fact that she is to be “thrown down.” 

One of the Old Testament’s most notorious characters is the wicked Queen Jezebel, whose name has become synonymous with shameless harlotry. Today’s parents would no more name their daughter Jezebel than they would their son Judas, lest they stigmatize their child with so scandalous a moniker. 

Jezebel is condemned in Scripture in no uncertain terms for seducing Israel into idolatry, which was seen as spiritual harlotry by God, who considered Israel His wife and Himself Israel’s husband (Isaiah 54:5; Jeremiah 3:20; 31:32; Ezekiel 16:32). Despite her horrific harlotry against God and seduction of others into sin and sacrilege, the pompous and pagan Jezebel felt herself invulnerable to the judgment of God and to her own destruction, until, as the Prophet Elijah had predicted, she was suddenly thrown down and her flesh devoured by dogs (1 Kings 21:23; 2 Kings 9:10, 30-37).

According to Revelation, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT” will be “THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS.” Her spiritual harlotry against God will be the most egregious in the history of humanity. She will not just seduce others, but the whole world into joining her in her sin and sacrilege. In spite of this, she will, just like Jezebel, “sit” smugly as “a queen,” convinced not only of her immunity from “sorrow,” but also of her own invulnerability and invincibility (Revelation 18:7). She’ll have no fear of the judgment of God nor of her own destruction, until, as Revelation predicts, she, like Jezebel, is suddenly “thrown down” and “her flesh” devoured (Revelation 17:16; 18:21). 

Other telltale details of MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT’S predicted destruction that point out her unprecedented spiritual harlotry is her being striped “naked” and made “desolate,” as well as burned “with fire” (Revelation 17:16). God often promised to punish those guilty of spiritual harlotry by stripping them naked, exposing them to public shame, and leaving them desolate (Isaiah 47:2-3; Jeremiah 13:16; Lamentations 1:8; Ezekiel 16:37, 39; 23:29; Hosea 2:10; Nahum 3:5). In addition, particular ones who profaned themselves by their own harlotry, such as the daughter of a priest, were to be burned with fire (Leviticus 21:9).

Ask yourself the following questions.

1. What nation in the world today is guilty of the greatest spiritual harlotry of all time, having gone from being the greatest Christian nation in history to becoming an antichrist nation that is hellbent on stamping out Christianity in its midst?
2. What nation in the world today is the foremost seducer of the rest of the world into spiritual harlotry, sin, and sacrilege?
3. What nation in the world today, despite her unprecedented spiritual harlotry and sinful seduction of the whole earth, sits smugly upon her assumed throne as the presumed queen of all nations, impervious to God’s imminent judgment and indifferent to her own impending destruction, because she imagines herself both invulnerable and invincible?

The answer to the above questions is obvious. The answer is America! We are the “great city” of the end times that is about to be “thrown down and found no more” (Revelation 18:21).
