Back in 2012, I faced a firestorm in Florida. I got caught in the crossfire of my peers in other church pulpits and of parishioners in my own, as well as in other church pews. Surprisingly, what put me in the crosshairs of both clergy and laity was a Scriptural stand I felt forced to take. Democrats, like Hillary Clinton and Stacey Abrams, who’ve perennially protested lost elections, have suddenly and surprisingly become passionate proponents and self-appointed protectors of our elections. In spite of the strife and stress of these perilous times of the last days, the saints have good reason to be thankful on this Thanksgiving Day. Not only should we be thankful for all Christ has done, but also for all He is. Every good gift, including the gift of God, which is eternal life, has been graciously given to us from the nail-scarred hand of Him who is our all in all. Still, as Scripture teaches, there are other reasons why we should have no misgiving about today's Thanksgiving.

Although he started off talking tough, promising to unwaveringly stand with Israel in their war against the bloodthirsty terrorists of Hamas, Joe Biden quickly wavered and started soft-pedaling weasel worded equivocations. Several people have shared a post or spoken with me about a post that misquotes Luke 21:20. According to the post, Jesus said, in His answer to His disciples' question about the coming destruction of Jerusalem's temple, "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by enemies on all sides, look up your deliverance is near." However, according to Luke 21:20, here's what Jesus actually said, "And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh." The "armies" Jesus spoke of were those of Titus the Roman, who sacked Jerusalem in 70 AD and destroyed its temple. God has had only two human witnesses in all of human history—Israel, God's chosen people, the Jews, and the church, God's elect people, Christians. According to Revelation 11:1-13, an end-time antisemitic and antichrist world will put God's two witnesses, Jews and Christians, in its crosshairs. Irony of ironies, the Pentagon argues that states’ abortion restrictions harm military readiness, despite the fact that abortion has claimed more American lives than the total number of American fatalities in all the wars we’ve ever fought. In addition to this absurdity, is this travesty, over a year after it stated unequivocally that abortion restrictions have "readiness, recruiting, and retention implications" for our military, the Pentagon has now been forced to admit that it has absolutely no evidence to confirm this claim.
