Much of the blame for the disaster in Afghanistan must be laid at the feet of George W. Bush. The so-called Bush Doctrine, based on the delusional belief that an Islamic state can be turned into a democracy, is the absurd proposition that got us bogged down for twenty years in the quagmire of Afghanistan, which cost us thousands of American lives and trillions of American taxpayer dollars. Although modern-day politicians speak from ignorance on almost every subject they choose to address, they are never more ignorant than when they take up the subject of religion.

Islam, the Religion of the Sword, is, as anyone remotely familiar with it knows, more, in the Muslim’s mind, than a mere religion. It is a comprehensive way of life. The Koran and the Hadith, Islam’s other sacred text, describe numerous regulations governing every aspect of a Muslim’s life. For instance, the Koran dictates that Muslim women must be veiled in public. To make matters worse, these numerous strict regulations are stretched to unbearable lengths by many modern-day Islamists. Take for example the Taliban, who’ve retaken control of Afghanistan, where they once outlawed  laughing or singing in public. In light of the totalitarianism Islam demands in an Islamic state, it is safe to say that there is no such thing as freedom of religion, assembly, speech, or the press in a Muslim-controlled country. Therefore, the Bush Doctrine, which deceived us into fighting our nation’s longest war, at so great a cost in blood and treasure, was from the start a preposterous proposition, since Islam and democracy are completely incompatible, something anyone with an elementary understanding of the Religion of the Sword ought to know.

To further prove George W. Bush’s incredible ignorance about Islam, consider the following. Bush, who was called the Evangelical President, often claimed that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. However, when it comes to Jesus Christ, the Christian’s Lord and God, the Koran teaches that Jesus is a mere creature of the dust created by Allah, whom Allah can destroy anytime he takes a notion to. Furthermore, the Koran teaches (1) that it is blasphemy to say that Jesus is God (2) that those who say Jesus is God have the curse of Allah on them and will be forbidden entrance into paradise and cast into the fires of hell, and (3) that confessing Jesus is God is the “SHIRK,” Islam’s unpardonable sin. 

Obviously, George W. Bush was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Still, compared to the current dull-headed and dim-witted occupant of the Oval Office, Bush was a brilliant brainiac. Make no mistake about it, having such peabrains as our presidents goes along way in explaining why our once great republic is now perishing right before our very eyes. It is, as the Bible teaches, and we’re seeing played out in Afghanistan today, a lack of knowledge that causes people to perish (Hosea 4:6).
