Although I’ve already written a couple of articles on the Ukrainian War, I feel another is warranted, in light of things that have now come to light. If you would like to read our previously penned pieces, here are the links to them and the titles of them:
- The Madness of Fighting Unwinnable Wars https://www.timefortruth.citymaker.com/wef-not-what-it-use-to-be.html.
- Ukrainian War Spills Over Into Oval Office https://www.timefortruth.citymaker.com/anchor-babies.html.
I’ll begin this third of my trio of treatises on the Ukrainian War with a salient point. This war presents our world with only three viable options.
- Ukraine can opt to continue to fight this unwinnable war, at the horrendous cost of ongoing death and destruction. If so, it remains to be seen whether or not we will opt to continue to jeopardize our own national security, by continuing to drain our own financial coffers and deplete our own military stockpiles, just so that we can continue to support Ukraine in its unwinnable war.
- We, along with our NATO allies, can join the fray, at the risk of plunging our planet into World War III.
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy can be forced, by the threat of our withdrawn support, to sit down at the negotiating table with Vladimir Putin, where both will be called upon to make concessions to end this war, the bloodiest in Europe since World War II.
Now, neither the bravery of the Ukrainians nor the evil of Vladimir Putin changes the harsh and hard reality of this horrible war. There is no possibility of an ideal outcome—a victorious and vindicated Ukraine and a defeated and diminished Russia—unless we’re willing to engulf our whole planet in mushroom clouds in a last-ditch attempt to achieve it. Therefore, to continue to throw good money after bad and to deplete our own military stockpiles over this unwinnable war in Ukraine is absolute madness. Yet, it appears that Democrats, Republican war hawks, European leaders, and even Volodymyr Zelenskyy are all willing to shut their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears, and march right off the precipice of this madness, in absolute denial of reality and in demonstration of their own insanity.
Since Friday’s fiasco in the Oval Office—the unprecedented public dust-up between Zelensky and President Tump and Vice President Vance—much has come to light, a considerable part of which has also proven to be most disconcerting. To begin with, we’ve now learned that the mineral rights deal Zelensky was in the Oval Office to sign on Friday, he had declined to sign on two previous occasions, once in Kyiv and once in Munich. Instead, Zelenskyy insisted on coming to the White House to sign it, where he not only belligerently balked at signing it once again, but started a brouhaha with Trump and Vance in front of the White House Press Pool. In addition to this, we’ve also now learned that Zelenskyy met with Democrats prior to his Oval Office meeting with Trump and Vance, where he was advised, according to a telling tweet by Democrat Senator Chris Murphy, not to sign the mineral rights deal, but to strut into the Oval Office demanding security guarantees.
Since being thrown out of the White House last Friday, for his belligerent behavior, Zelenskyy has become the darling of Trump-hating Democrats and Republican war hawks, who’ve never met a war they didn’t like, as long as they themselves didn’t have to fight it. Also jumping on the Zelenskyy bandwagon are European leaders, who have given Zelenskyy a standing ovation for bravely biting the American hand that feeds him. In fact, in a quickly called Security Summit this past Sunday with Zelenskyy, eighteen European leaders drew up their own peace plan for ending the Ukrainian War. The only catch is, they acknowledged it is completely untenable without Trump’s cooperation, which they currently don’t have a snowball’s chance in Hell of getting.
That Europe is delusional in its dreamed up notion of ending the Ukrainian War to the satisfaction of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is now at odds with America and being overrun on the battlefield by the Russians, is easy to prove. Take for example the following discomfiting fact. During the past three years of the Ukrainian War, the European Union (EU) has put more euros in the coffers of Putin than it has in the coffers of Zelensky. While the EU has given billions to fund Ukraine’s war against its Russian invaders, it has paid the Kremlin three billion more euros than it has given to Ukraine, for the purchase of Russian fossil fuels, upon which much of Europe is now dependent. Further evidence of European delusion is found in British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s recent and impetuous promise to put British boots on the ground in Ukraine and British planes overhead in the Ukrainian sky. If he were to do so, our world would be one single shot away from World War III. All it would take to ignite it is a single Russian bullet fired at a British soldier or a single Russian antiaircraft missile shot at a British plane.
While Donald Trump may overestimate his ability to make a deal to end the Ukrainian War or underestimate Vladimir Putin’s ability to double-deal when it comes to any and every deal, I must admit he has hit the nail right on the head when it comes to Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s aversion to any deal, apart from one strictly forged on Zelenskyy’s terms alone. Zelenskyy proved Trump’s allegation that he is belligerently opposed to making any deal, apart from one that meets all of his demands, this past weekend, when he audaciously avowed, “An agreement to end the war is still very, very far away.” Trump responded to Zelenskyy’s cocky comment in a post on Truth Social, in which our President wrote, “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!”
Think about it, Zelenskyy naively believes that we will continue to support his fighting of an unwinnable war, which he is losing, until the war ends with all of his personal demands agreed to by everyone, including Vladimir Putin. Such illusion and insolence is truly breathtaking. While Zelenskyy may be cheered on by his credulous cheerleaders—Trump-hating Democrats, Republican war hawks, and anti-American European leaders—he, along with his cheerleaders, just got a reality check. Last night, in an obvious effort to force a belligerent Zelenskyy to the negotiating table, as well as to wake up his pipe dreaming enablers, President Donald Trump announced a pause in all American aid to Ukraine. This pulls the rug out from under everything, forcing everyone to free themselves of the wool that has been pulled over their eyes. Hopefully, this wake-up call will awaken the world from the nightmare of the Ukrainian War, bringing it, along with its death and destruction, at long last to an end. Otherwise, we're sailing into the future on uncharted waters, the precariousness and perilousness of which we've never seen before (2 Timothy 3:1).
