On his first day as president, Joe Biden issued an executive order entitled, “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities.” It was therefore obvious from the start that equity was to be a priority of Biden’s presidency.

Recently, Vice President Kamala Harris called for equity in the distribution of federal relief funds among Hurricane Ian victims in Florida. According to Harris, “communities of color” should receive priority in the distribution of relief funds. In other words, it is race, not need, that should determine who is first and most served.

The word equity is a perfect example of today’s ideological fog. It sounds perfectly innocuous. Consequently, as it is bandied about everywhere and being applied to everything, it doesn’t ruffle feathers, but warms hearts. Erroneously seen as synonymous with equality, most Americans believe equity is simply equal treatment under the law. However, nothing could be further from the truth!

Equity is a code word for socialism. It is being masterfully used by political progressives to mask their diabolical designs. Unlike equality, which demands equal opportunity and equal protection under the law, equity demands equal outcomes and preferential treatment under the law. In other words, it codifies discrimination into law, by assigning to some groups, whom the government deems as disadvantaged and underprivileged, special rights, protections, and privileges.

Far from being synonymous with equality, equity is actually the polar opposite of it. Furthermore, unlike equality, which the government needs only to protect and preserve, equity requires government control. Only when government controls everything, can it see to it that everyone has an equal share and station in life. Therefore, equity is socialism, plane and simple.

How thick is the ideological fog in today's America when it comes to the opacity of equity? Consider the fact that Democrats, the champions of equity, which we've proven is equivalent to socialism, are attempting to get voters to the polls in November by warning them that our democracy is hanging in the balance. If voters do not keep them in power, but elect Republican majorities to both houses of Congress, equity championing Democrats predict that it will prove to be the death knell to our democracy. Incredibly, millions of Americans not only believe them, but will head to the polls to vote for them, oblivious to the fact that they’re not voting for those determined to defend our democracy, but for those determined to destroy it.
