Recently, I've been repeatedly asked about the rebuilding of the Jewish temple and the reinstitution of their sacrificial system, especially in light of the arrival of five red heifer calves in Jerusalem from Texas. As I have written, preached, and taught for years, much to the chagrin of my fellow evangelicals, but without any scriptural refutation from all of my detractors, evangelicals' most popular end-time theory, premillennial dispensationalism, as well as its key proponents, such as a secret rapture of the church, a seven year tribulation period, and a rebuilt Jewish temple, is nowhere to be found in all of Scripture. In fact, a secret rapture of the Christian church was never heard of in all of Christian history before the year 1830. When it comes to the Jewish temple, I don't know if it will be rebuilt or not. What I do know, thanks to the teaching of my Lord in Matthew 23:37-24:2, is that it will be totally insignificant if it is. For those of you who disagree, who insist upon a rebuilt Jewish temple serving as the end-time house of God, within in which the so-called "Antichrist" will supposedly commit the presumed abomination of desolation, I'd like for you to answer one simple question. How can a rebuilt Jewish temple possibly be the house of God when it will be built in complete rejection of Jesus Christ? To rebuild their temple and to reinstitute their sacrificial system, the Jewish people will have to turn their noses up at the grace of God, to trample under their feet the precious blood of Jesus Christ, their Messiah, and to outright reject the once and for all sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary for the sin of the world (Hebrews 7:27; 9:12, 26; 10:10, 12, 26, 29). I don't know about you, but this doesn't sound like any house of God to me. Instead of a supposed "Antichrist" committing a presumed abomination of desolation in a rebuilt Jewish temple, the rebuilding of the Jewish temple will itself be an abomination in the eyes of God, since it will be rebuilt in rejection of His Son, who He lovingly gave for the salvation of the world!
